The JEE Main 2014 Paper Pattern
enables the aspirants to get an idea about the type of questions, marking
systems, duration and other such details pertaining to the Joint entrance
Examination Main 2014. It is beneficial for students to go through the Paper
Pattern of JEE Main 2014 such that they get accustomed with the help of
practice papers. Given below are the details for the Exam Pattern for JEE Main
2014 as announced by the CBSE Board
India for the benefit of students who can put it to use for better
preparation.
The JEE Advanced 2014 Paper will
be paper and pencil based only. The Joint Admission Board (JAB) of the IITs met
on September 15, 2013 to discuss the changes proposed for the JEE Advanced 2014
examination. The decision arrived at the meeting was to continue with the JEE Advanced
2013 modelfor the year 2014 too.
This means that the earlier
proposal of converting the JEE Advanced 2014 into a computer based exam will
now not be implemented. The committee decided to follow a systematic approach
by setting up a committee to study the online process before its
implementation. N.Panigrahi the JEE Advanced 2014 Chairman stated that the
implementation of the online JEE Advanced Examination will be only after a
thorough study of the pros and cons adding that a committee will soon be set up
for this.
JEE 2014 aspirants may note that
the JEE Advanced 2014 will be held on May 25, 2014, a week earlier compared to
JEE Advanced 2013 and the official notification in this regard will be
announced soon. The JEE Main 2014 may be conducted on April 6, 2014 though the
CBSE which conducts the exam has to yet issue the notification in this regard.
Who Conducts BITSAT?
Birla Institute of Technology and
Science (BITS), Pilani is a premier Institution of scientific and technological
studies in India having a status of Deemed University under the UGC Act. The
institute offers various Integrated First Degree programmes at its Pilani, Goa
and Hyderabad campuses. For admission into these programmes BITS, Pilani
conducts an all-India entrance test popularly known as BITS Admission Test
(BITSAT) every year. BITSAT is a computer based online entrance test and first
of its kind in India.
No of Seats
Nearly 85,000 candidates compete
for a total of 2000 admission seats (800 in Pilani Campus, 600 in Goa Campus
and 600 in Hyderabad Campus) through BITSAT every year.
BITSAT Exam Pattern
The candidate should have
obtained a minimum of 75% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
subjects in 12th class examination, at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry,
and Mathematics subjects and adequate proficiency in English. BITSAT is a
single stage on-line entrance test, which is expected to be answered by the
candidates within three hours. The question paper consists of multiple choice
type questions. Each question carrying four options from which students have to
choose the right one. The question paper consists of 150 questions, which are
divided into four parts:
Physics (40 questions)
Chemistry (40 questions)
Mathematics (45 questions)
English Proficiency & Logical
reasoning (25 questions)
The candidates have to answer all
the questions on computers at their choice of test centers the day and time of
their convenience, at different cities across the country. There is a condition
of negative marking in the admission test. All the instructions and questions
in the entrance test are only in English medium.
