JEE Main 2015 - Seat Allotment Process

JEE Main is not just an entrance exam, it is a stepping stone for thousand, or maybe even for more aspirants across the nation. Career of many will be directed on the basis of its result. To start with, lets us first understand what JEE is. Joint entrance exam is an amalgamation of AIEEE and JEE-IIT. Both were consolidated in 2012. Part one of it JEE Main and another is JEE Advanced.

A mandatory criterion to write Advanced is that candidates must qualify Main. Main is conducted at national level. Purpose of exam is to select high deserving candidates for admission in various engineering colleges throughout the nation. Qualifiers will be enrolled in undergraduate engineering courses and will study any particular field of engineering. For nation’s biggest exam, an application form has been released and will be available till 18th December 2014. Everyone will have to apply online only. There is no other medium to register. Application fee will be paid either online, through net banking and debit/ credit card or by downloading a challan form.

Only eligible candidates will be allowed to write this entrance exam. Eligibility criteria is that applicant must be have passed class XII from a recognized institution with physics, chemistry and mathematics as core subjects. Plus should be born on or before 1 October 1990. Class XII on or after 2013 but each will get only 3 chances to crack JEE Main 2015.
Syllabus is the same as that of XII and XII (CBSE Board. By the way CBSE is conducting body). Questions will cover concepts of physics, chemistry and mathematics and will be of objective type. Every entrant will get 3 hours to solve question paper in which they will have to solve 90 questions in all. For correct answer 4 marks will be awarded. Whereas, negative marking of 1 mark will be improvised for marking wrong option.

Filling application form in due time and in prescribed format is vital to attain admit card. Without admit card entrant will be forbidden from writing exam. It is an important document which states the identity and proves that person who filled application form is the same as that who is appearing for exam.

Score card and All India Rank will be published to state performance of entrants. Score card will contain marks in each section as well as over all. All India Rank will compare performance and show how many entrants are better or below each candidate.

Qualifiers of JEE Main 2015 will be invited for counseling where they will allotted seat as per their rank and choice for college and course stated by them.
