Time for preparation:
The UGC-NET exam has a vast
syllabus and pattern of the exam is tough. Therefore, you should start early to
make sure you have ample time to prepare for the exam. This will also help to
reduce the anxiety, which is common among aspirants.
Hard Work:
As they say, there is absolutely
no substitute for hard work and this adage applies here too. The vast syllabus
and intense competition necessitates you to give your best effort to make sure
to cover every detail of the vast syllabus of each subject. From main subject
to general knowledge topics, everything should be covered in your preparation
and this requires some real hard work on your part.
Prioritize the Subjects:
In order to come out with flying
colors, you have to strategize well and implement your strategies to
perfection. There will be some subjects, which you find easy and others tough.
Therefore, a good strategy will be to start with easy subjects first and get
yourself acquainted with the tougher ones in the later stages. This would
enable you to get the required confidence about your preparation and you will
be able to invest a greater amount of time for tougher subjects. For the
tougher subjects, practice them regularly and start with the basic topics. The
basic topics will help to understand the nuances of the subject in a better and
efficient manner and then gradually move on to complex topics. Do not cram up
subjects and try to understand the logic behind every topic.

handy in case of UGC-NET exams, thus you have to impeccable with your study
material. You can get this study material from coaching institutes,
which provide comprehensive study material (even for other exams like TNPSC
exam etc.) and imparts guidance about the pattern of the exam. The study
material is also available online on various websites. Moreover, candidates can
also take reference from their college or university notes. These notes are
usually easy to understand and give a very good description of the particular
subject.
Mock Tests
Mock tests are no doubt the best
way to prepare for competitive exams. Not only they give an examination hall
feel but they will also help you to understand the pattern of the exam in a
better manner. Appearing for mock test regularly will help you to manage the
time in an efficient way. This will also give you an insight about which
questions should be solved first and how much time should be given to every
question during the actual exam. These mock tests may also consist of previous
year exams and are available on websites.
